Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game - Chapter 73
POV ???:
“Bang!” suddenly, a loud bang echoed through the surroundings. A small feminine figure jumped out of a simple wooden chair, looking around her room. The room was dark, only dimly lit by a small crystal lying on a table next to the chair and silver moonlight entering through a small window.
Another loud bang came from downstairs, and an orange light flashed outside on the street through the window, followed by angry voices from outside.
“Are you alright?”
“Damn, he is not breathing, that little bitch!”
“Give me the bomb!”
‘Shit!’ the young elf’s long ears twitched as she quickly pushed the wooden table towards the doors into her room. Then she unsheathed a small glittering dagger covered in glowing runes from her belt, aiming it at the doors.
Suddenly a loud explosion came from downstairs, dust falling from the old ceiling as the explosion shook the building.
‘After this, guards should be on their way! I just need to hold!’
Then at least three sets of loud steps started to ascend the old staircase creaking under them. Each step caused her heart to thump louder with her eyes glued on the doors.
POV Vesuvius:
A golden light flashed, and the stone temple vanished as the dragon appeared, standing on top of the mountain made out of golden coins in the middle of the empty white space. Shadowy silhouettes quickly materialised in the distance in all directions from the gold.
p-A- n-d-A-n-0-v-e-1、(c)om ‘Time to end this!’ the dragon flapped his wings, the dark smoke spreading everywhere as he rose up above the golden hoard. He opened his mouth, his eyes glittering in dim light as he regained his hope.
A wave of flames erupted out of his mouth, falling on the gold. A massive heat akin to the blast furnace enveloped the gold, the yellowy flames blasting everywhere.
The golden coins quickly changed their colour as they started to glow with their quickly rising temperature. Soon the golden mountain started to melt, golden rivers flowing down and forming small ponds of molten gold under it.
The dragon’s eyes dilated, seeing the beautiful shiny rivers in front of him.
‘Maybe I can build my own pool of molten gold in the future.’
The stream of fire kept blasting against the golden coins and melting them at an accelerating speed. More and more gold flowed down, joining the golden ponds, their size quickly growing into a small lake.please visit panda(-)N0ve1.co)m
‘Try to snatch this!’ the dragon stopped his breath, grinning while looking at the golden lake udner him, ‘Now one more thing just to be safe.’
The dragon opened his mouth once again, and then a thick stream of magma rushed out, falling on top of the molten gold, mixing with it and covering it in orange bubbling liquid. The much heavier gold quickly sunk to the button with a layer of magma forming a bubbling lake on top of the molten gold.
Vesuvius could just melt it with magma from the beginning, but he couldn’t miss the sight of a lake of pure molten gold.
The Vesuvius flapped his wings even stronger than before, shooting high into the sky like a rocket, leaving behind a trail of thick dark smoke. The orange lake udner him quickly turned into a small puddle as he swished through the air, rising higher and higher.
‘Now that I am also safe… maybe I can test one of my theories.’
The dragon opened his mouth, and a huge stream of thick smoke erupted. The dark smoke filled the white sky, forming heavy clouds of gasses and ash.
In the meantime, the crowds of pitch black shadowy monsters rushed forward without any resistance closing on the bubbling and glowing lava lake.
Suddenly massive electrical arcs formed in the sky, jumping between the dark clouds covering the otherwise white sky. Loud thunders echoed through the white space as electrical arcs kept striking the massive dragon in the sky, hitting his horns as if they were lightning rods. The bright and thick tendrils of electricity grew around the dragon, brightly sparkling udner the black smoke surrounding him.
‘It works…’ Vesuvius noticed that the storm created by the wyrm’s domain greatly empowered his lightning attacks as he could charge himself with electrical charge already contained within storm clouds. He also knew that his volcanic smoke could produce an electrical charge. That gave him the idea of using his breath to create ash-filled clouds around him, to work as an additional power generator for him.
Then the dragon’s horns crackled, and a massive bolt of lightning shot out toward the monsters on the ground. Earth-shattering thunder broke the silence as the bright blue bolt of lightning tore across the skies, striking the middle of the black horde. Electricity crackled as blinding light flashed, and the lightning passed through the monsters’ bodies within a tennis court’s radius. The monsters closer to the centre were destroyed, turning into clouds of motes and black smoke, while the monsters further away fell to the ground, twitching as parts of their bodies dissipated into black smoke.
Then a rain of fire descended down, magma raining through the ranks of monsters, burning them instantly as the dragon opened his mouth, unleashing magmatic inferno.
The black monsters kept moving forward and had already reached the edges of the blazing hot lava lake, thick smoke rising out of their bodies as they kept getting damaged by the heat radiating out of it.
They stopped at once, their empty black eyes looking at the bubbling liquid in front of them. Vesuvius also stopped his attacks, focusing his eyes on what the monsters will do.
At once, the monsters rushed forwards, jumping into the burning liquid and turning into black motes.
Vesuvius was dumbfounded. He expected monsters to stop, not knowing what to do, not just to commit suicide, ‘Also, why are they dissipating normally now? This place is really inconsistent. Who would have thought the dragon god would be so lazy… but he is a dragon, or more likely dragons are like him, so that can be expected.’
The black tide of monsters moved as one, jumping into burning lava and turning into black motes one by one. They were still quiet, not making any sound.
