But Yang Qingyin quickly raised the car window and coldly shouted at Ye Xiaoli, who had slowed down, “Get moving!”
Ye Xiaoli immediately accelerated, and the car quickly drove away.
“Heh heh,” Fang Dongxun turned his head to Yang Qingyin in the back and said with mockery again, “Qingyin, your little boyfriend is really gallant, escorting three beautiful women out to the bar at once, even I have to admire his prowess. Last time, it was an affectionate pair of sisters, and this time another pair, from the Chen Family, no less. I can only bow in defeat.”
“Stop the car,” Yang Qingyin commanded coldly.
Ye Xiaoli hit the brakes, and the car quickly pulled over and stopped.
“Fang Dongxun,” Yang Qingyin said again, coldly, “shut your filthy mouth and get out of the car now.”
“Fine, I’m getting out,” even Fang Dongxun, thick-skinned as he was, had to exit the car rather than stay under Yang Qingyin’s angry command, chuckling before he got out.
After Fang Dongxun got out, the unassuming Audi A4 that Yang Qingyin was in sped away immediately.
But Fang Dongxun didn’t mind; he laughed a few times and walked toward the direction where Luo Ziling, Chen Xiaoyi, Chen Xiaoxiao, and the others had been standing. When he saw Luo Ziling, Fang Qianqian had her back turned and didn’t see her face, or else he would’ve exploded in anger.
However, what surprised Fang Dongxun was that, when he got back to where Luo Ziling and the others had been standing, they were nowhere to be seen; they had left.
In fact, Fang Dongxun had missed them by just one minute. If he had arrived a minute earlier, he would have encountered Luo Ziling and the others.
Luo Ziling, helpless amidst the three women making a fuss around him, saw Yang Qingyin’s head pop out of the slowly passing Audi. He immediately sensed trouble. When Yang Qingyin raised the car window and the car sped off, he was even more distressed.

“I need to leave first; you all head back on your own,” he shouted to the three women before turning and running off.
“Hey, Luo Ziling, wait, don’t run! I’ll take you back.” Chen Xiaoyi was taken by surprise when Luo Ziling suddenly bolted. She didn’t manage to react at first; by the time she did and shouted toward the direction Luo Ziling had left, it was already too late.
Luo Ziling had fled without warning, leaving the three jovial women completely bewildered.
They still wanted to drag Luo Ziling out for late-night snacks and to pour him some drinks, curious to see how he’d react when drunk.
Being so handsome and quite shy, he was a prime example of manhood. Regardless of their intentions, they all wanted to tease this young man a bit. They hadn’t noticed the slowly passing Audi or Yang Qingyin peeking out at them; they were completely focused on their own playful banter.
“Sis, why did your little lover suddenly make a run for it?” Chen Xiaoxiao asked Chen Xiaoyi, puzzled.
She and Chen Xiaoyi were cousins; Chen Xiaoyi was her cousin-sister, but they always spoke to each other very casually, never taking offense, even if one of them said something over the line.
“How would I know?” Chen Xiaoyi didn’t explain her relationship with Luo Ziling; his sudden departure surprised her and made her feel like she had lost face.
Feeling discontented, she pulled out her phone and dialed Luo Ziling’s number.
The call connected after a few rings, and Luo Ziling’s breathless voice came through, “Sorry, something urgent came up and I have to go back. If I don’t go back right now, someone’s life is at stake. I really apologize, Journalist Chen, I’ll treat you to supper some other time.”
“Alright,” Luo Ziling explained like that so Chen Xiaoyi had nothing more to say and hung up the phone feeling frustrated.
“What happened?” Fang Qianqian asked curiously, “What’s going on? Did your little lover ditch you?”
“Don’t talk nonsense,” Chen Xiaoyi, whose mood had soured, reached out and pinched Fang Qianqian, “I never treated him as my little lover, we haven’t even held hands.”
“Cut it out, you’re lying through your teeth. I just saw you pulling his hand to dance,” Fang Qianqian said with a look of disdain.
“Is that the same thing?” Chen Xiaoyi glared at Fang Qianqian annoyedly, “We’ve only known each other for a few days!”
“Then you better hurry, with your abilities and tactics, how could a young boy with no dating experience possibly escape your clutches?” Fang Qianqian laughed mischievously, “But you need to be careful. The first time I saw him, I also took a liking to this handsome young man. You never know, one day I might become your love rival, and we’ll fight over this fresh meat. The attraction of a bestie isn’t as great as that of such an outstanding young hunk.”
While speaking, she turned to Chen Xiaoxiao and said, “Your sister might join the fray too, fighting over this fresh meat with you. Didn’t you see? She almost threw herself at him earlier. Right, did he take advantage of you just now? Did he cop a feel of your chest?”
“Drop dead,” Chen Xiaoxiao kicked Fang Qianqian, “You can’t expect anything nice to come out of a dog’s mouth. I’m not like you, brazenly rubbing up against someone just because you think you’ve got more curves.”
“Enough, enough, don’t make a scene here. Aren’t you ashamed?” Chen Xiaoyi interrupted their bickering and commanded, “Let’s go, we’ll get supper ourselves.”
Chen Xiaoxiao and Fang Qianqian could only follow her lead.
After getting into the car, Chen Xiaoyi didn’t start it right away but instead sent Luo Ziling a message. “You were really lacking manners today. You owe us big time for the next one. Don’t forget I’m still doing you a favor with the Weibo and WeChat official account stuff. I meant to discuss it with you today but completely forgot. You owe me a treat to say thanks, remember, you already owe me quite a few times.”
But without waiting for Luo Ziling’s reply, she had to start the car in frustration and left with her two friends.
At the time Chen Xiaoyi was messaging him, Luo Ziling, after running for a while, was calling Yang Qingyin.
This time Yang Qingyin didn’t reject the call but picked it up after a few rings.
“Senior, where are you?” Luo Ziling asked, panting heavily.
“I’m almost at the school,” Yang Qingyin replied, and for some reason, she felt a bit saddened.
“I’m exhausted from running. Can you wait for me? Or, could you come back and pick me up?” Luo Ziling had run over two kilometers but got lost along the way and didn’t know where he was. He was worried Yang Qingyin might be angry or that he wouldn’t be able to find her later, so he resorted to acting shamelessly.
After a pause, Yang Qingyin asked Luo Ziling, “Where are you?”
“I don’t know!” Luo Ziling looked around, “There’s a supermarket nearby called Jiajiale, I’ll go check the street number.”
“Why don’t you send me your location via WeChat, and I’ll come to pick you up.”
Hearing that Yang Qingyin was not annoyed and was willing to come to get him, Luo Ziling was instantly overjoyed.
