The Yu Brothers’ Case Book - Chapter 9
S1: Book 1: Chapter 9
Yu Yin squinted at a certain person calmly peeling pears next to him. “Don’t you need to go to work?” This guy has way too much free time!
“I’m on a night shift rotation in addition to being available on-call, so I’m typically free around this time.” Yan Si casually carved the pears into flower shapes and found a plate to put the pear flowers on. As he passed the plate over, he asked, “Does this young friend here not have to go to school?” He glanced at Yu sitting nearby.
“Huh…” That’s right, why didn’t I ever think about that? Dad said he was almost eighteen. That means he should theoretically be in his third year of high school and should be in classes with everyone else right now. “Yu, where do you go to school?”
Yu shook his head and opened his notebook to write: “Deferring studies.”
“Deferring studies?” Yu Yin furrowed his brows. His dad would normally not let the other continuously defer from studies.
Yu nodded, but did not give an explanation, and Yu Yin felt it would be too much to press any further.
Maybe he needs to rest for a period of time?
Just as the room unexpectedly fell quiet for a bit, Yan Si’s cellphone suddenly rang. “I’ll step outside for a moment.” He left the ward with his phone in hand.
As Yu Yin sat in his bed, he suddenly thought back to the photos from earlier.
Now, everyone had died. From his knowledge, the only two people remaining were still at the arcade centre.
Wang Hong, Zhao Yu Heng.
There was something he wanted to verify.
Among the noises from the dream he had seen while half-unconscious, the laughter had sounded nearly identical to Wang Hong’s.
He turned his head to see Yu’s focused gaze on him. “You know where I want to go.” Yu Yin stood up. Fortunately, his dad had brought over clean clothes for him. He selected a shirt and jeans to change into. Although he was still a bit lightheaded, it did not affect his ability to walk.
Yu also stood up, right behind his tail, without preventing nor endorsing Yu Yin’s movements. He simply followed Yu Yin.
“…You really do love following others!”
***
Monday.
The arcade centre was locked tightly, unlike before. Even the security gates had been closed. There were no longer any customers to be seen walking around the area.
The two people who had arrived by taking several busses looked at the security gate, at a loss on what to do.
The surroundings were deserted, making it seem as if the scene he had seen a few days prior had been a mere illusion.
“Weird…why is it closed like this today?” Yu Yin crossed his arms and stared at the locked-up arcade centre suspiciously. “Could it have gone bankrupt?”
But based on how large it had seemed in his last visit, it could not have gone bankrupt so quickly.
As he was weighing a bunch of possibilities, he suddenly heard footsteps coming from behind.
“Hey! Newbie, you’re here again?” Yu Yin immediately turned his head towards the voice to see a middle-aged man that he was somewhat acquainted with.
He stared blankly for a moment, taken aback by the unexpected encounter with the middle-aged man that had told him of Lin Xiu Jing’s matter in the arcade centre last time. Yu Yin quickly said to the person in front of him, “Dàshū, do you know what happened to this place?”
“This place?” The middle-aged man glanced at the closed arcade centre. “Early this morning, the police came around here. Not sure what happened, but the shop closed after the police left. I have no idea why it would stop [business] all of a sudden without warning,” he replied with a shrug.
“The police came to search inside?” Is Uncle really that fast…?
“No, it seems to be related to what happened in the past. This area often has people getting beaten up because they can’t pay back the debts they build from playing.” The middle-aged man lowered his voice and warily added, “I heard someone reported an incident, so the police checked the street’s surveillance footage and arrested several people. Once the people were taken away, the shop closed down.”
Beaten up for unpaid debts?
Yu Yin instantly recalled that Yan Si had mentioned during their first encounter that people would often get ganged uip on around the arcade centre. So the police had been keeping an eye on this place since back then?
“But with how big of a deal this has become, this place will get searched sooner or later too. If you still want to play, I suggest you find somewhere else. I heard that the nearby district has also opened a decently sized place. You should go take a look there when you’re free.” The middle-aged man patted Yu Yin on the shoulder, then quickly left.
Yu Yin silently watched the middle-aged man leave.
He had no idea if Wang Hong and Zhao Yu Heng were among the ones arrested.
After mulling over this for a while, Yu Yin decided to still walk around the arcade centre as he had originally planned. Even if the front door has security gates, there should at least be a back door or something…
He turned around and looked at Yu standing next to him, realising that the boy would likely stubbornly follow him even if he said not to. “I’m going to go look for the arcade centre’s back door. If I’m lucky, I might find something. Do you want to follow me or wait here outside?”
Without even pretending to think it over, Yu reached out to grab Yu Yin’s clothes.
“Alright. This was your own decision, so if Dad and Uncle find out, you have to say you followed me by yourself. Understand?” Yu Yin said in a serious tone, making sure to first clear himself from the scope of responsibility.
Yu nodded to indicate he understood.
“Good. Let’s split up to look for the back door then. If you find it, make sure to let me know. Don’t go running in by yourself.” Yu Yin glanced around the arcade centre to gauge the possible locations of a back door. “You go search from the right side of the street, I’ll search from the left.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Yu acted extremely swiftly and began to run straight towards the right side.
Yu Yin also did not waste any time, turning to walk directly to the left side of the street.
The houses in this stretch were all stand-alones. There was a fire emergency path that stretched through them. Most of the residents had covered it with flowers, kept pets there, or even piled junk on it, completely ignoring the proponent of fire emergency protection. The part of the street next to the arcade centre sported a row of broken [game] machines. The machines had even accumulated some dust, likely after waiting for the manufacturer or recycler to bring the machines away. The objects took up over half of the space on the street. This forced the originally not very slim Yu Yin to carefully twist past each obstruction to slowly advance.
As expected, an inconspicuous metal door appeared before him after passing through the machines.
The path to the door was quite clean, seemingly having been cleared by people recently. The sight was a stark contrast to the [path filled with] machines.
Yu Yin pulled at the metal door a few times, discovering that it had been locked from the inside. He could open it just a bit, but there was no way of opening it completely. The people inside had not locked the outside, perhaps due to carelessness.
Yu Yin searched around a bit but did not spot anything that could break the lock. He tried his best to pull the door open as much as possible and force half his palm through. After feeling around inside for a while, he finally found the chain. After giving a few yanks, he heard a sound as the chain fell from his tugs.
The inside of the arcade centre was pitch-black without any hint of light.
He took a few steps in, squinting through the darkness. Once his eyes had adjusted a bit, he began to survey the inside. The area next to the door had been tidied up extremely well, leaving nothing behind. Several steps further in, he kicked something on the ground. When he looked more closely, he found that it was a female’s watch that had been dropped and broken. The unmoving needles pointed at a time in the wee hours of the day.
Yu Yin casually sidestepped the watch and felt his way through the darkness to walk around multiple times. The room of machines was still there, having not been moved away. The shop would likely open again after lying low for a while. Yu Yin knew many places that did this – even if the police searched the shop, if they did not find anything significant, the shop would reopen again after a period of time passed, either in its original location or a new location.
Aside from a large number of machines, he could not find anything inside.
He walked up to the machine from last time and sat down in front of it, staring blankly at it for a while. However, nothing paranormal happened.
Continuing to space out here would not be of any use.
Just as Yu Yin was about to leave, the security gates outside suddenly opened by themselves.
Yu Yin did not have time to think. He spotted the arcade centre’s bathrooms nearby and immediately darted over to hide inside.
Two people walked in from outside.
“Damn those cops for coming to arrest people at this kind of time.”
The door only opened halfway before the people strode in, one behind the other. Soon, all the lights had been switched on, instantly brightening the entire space.
Yu Yin could not see who the people that had entered were from his hiding place, but he could tell from the voice that one of them was Wang Hong.
“Bo-boss…now that the situation has already come to this…can you just let us go for a bit…so that we can hide a bit…?” The voice of the second person was on the more timid side, and Yu Yin could not immediately identify who it was.
However, it sounded familiar.
If there was anyone in the arcade centre who had a voice that Yu Yin would think sounded remotely familiar, it would have to be Zhao Yu Heng for sure.
The security gate made another sound outside as it cut them off from the outside.
It was silence for a brief second.
Suddenly, a low snort and a loud thud from a blow sounded out. “Fuck! You want to run?!” Wang Hong’s roar seemed to spread through the entire sealed-off space. “You want to run just like Ah Mu, do you? Don’t forget how much you all still owe me. If you rub me the wrong way, I’ll definitely make sure your entire family goes down with you!”
Owe?
Yu Yin was starting to be sensitive to this word. Especially considering the fact that someone had previously told him the boss knew where everyone’s families lived…Could it be that these guys had all been the arcade centre’s customers before?
“That’s not it…I just feel like something’s a bit off these days. I’m scared that Jing…”
“Shut up!” Wang Hong instantly interrupted, dragging the person on the ground up to throw them against a machine. “Even the police don’t know about that whore. You’d best keep your mouth sealed shut, or else I’ll make sure to send you where Ah Mu and the others are!”
Yu Yin more or less knew what had happened after hearing this.
Lin Xiu Jing’s death was completely and unmistakably related to them.
“I-I told you guys not to do it back then…Jing, Jing was…was my girlfriend!” The person being held down loudly shouted back, glaring at Wang Hong while releasing all the pent-up grievances. “I thought you guys would let her go!”
The clear sound of a slap rang out, echoing throughout the room. Then, Wang Hong chuckled coldly. “Hmph, a cowardly bastard like you dares to speak of that slut in front of me? Brave enough to shout now? Back when we were dealing with that bitch, you were too scared to even bark! Your girlfriend? Hah, you ran away too soon that day without even seeing how trashy that whore looked – not bad at all!”
“Wang Hong!”
Zhao Yu Heng crawled up with an angry roar, swinging a fist as hard as possible at the other person.
Wang Hong easily evaded the fist, returning one of his own to Zhao Yu Hen’s chest. Even without much force, Zhao Yu Heng instantly fell to the ground, unable to stand back up. “You’d better not think of reporting to the cops. Don’t forget you were also involved with what happened to that bitch.”
Then, Wang Hong turned to walk to the front desk.
Zhao Yu Heng was silent for a long time.
As Yu Yin was trying to think of ways to leave, a cold breeze touched the back of his head. He automatically turned around to locate the source.
The minute he did, he was met with a girl’s face.
Yu Yin immediately covered his mouth to keep himself from accidentally shouting.
The girl glared at him for a while. Only after Yu Yin’s back had broken out into cold sweat did she finally start to move, “walking” out.
Yu Yin steeled his nerves and secretly stuck his head out a bit to check the situation outside.
The girl passed through multiple machines, coldly eying the collapsed Zhao Yu Heng. Then, she went forwards to approach Wang Hong at the front desk. However, there seemed to be some fear in her expression, and she seemed afraid to get too close.
Just then, he heard the cry of the leopard cat.
“Where’s that cat sound coming from!”
Wang Hong alertly turned around, and the girl instantly vanished into thin air.
“Cat…?” Zhao Yu Heng struggled to crawl up from the ground and looked around. “There’s nothing here.”
“That can’t be. Check everywhere!” Wang Hong quickly walked out from behind the front desk, heading straight towards the back door.
Why can he hear the cat?
Yu Yin could not ponder this closely as he attempted to dart away.
Soon, a string of curses sounded out from outside. “The back door was opened! Search around this instant, see if anyone’s hiding here!” Wang Hong roared furiously, “If someone heard us just now, we’re screwed!”
Zhao Yu Heng immediately began to search, his expression also growing anxious.
What are they afraid of?
***
“Found you!”
Before Yu Yin could think too deeply, Wang Hong’s voice suddenly rang out next to his ear.
Yu Yin jumped in alarm, caught off guard by the fact that Wang Hong had so quickly come looking in the bathroom. After backpedalling rapidly, Yu Yin’s back hit the bathroom mirrors with a loud thud.
“Did you think I wouldn’t be able to find you? Hmph…don’t forget that this arcade centre is managed by me, Wang Hong. I know exactly where people like to hide, especially a place like the bathrooms that only amateurs like you would hide in!” Wang Hong sneered from the doorway. He did not seem rushed to seize Yu Yin, closely watching Yu Yin with evil intent in his gaze like a cat provoking a mouse and watching it struggle. “Ah Guan’s friend…you’ve been eavesdropping on us for long enough now.”
Yu Yin glanced around. There was nothing like a window that he could use to flee. The only way out was the back door that was not too far away.
However, he figured that Wang Hong would never let him flee so easily.
What should I do now?
He was a bit worried about Yu now. If he had been discovered, the other person might also discover Yu’s presence.
None of these people had good hearts. Yu definitely would not be able to deal with them.
“How much did you hear?” Wang Hong coldly asked while leaning against the stall.
“Not too much.” Over a dozen countermeasures flashed through Yu Yin’s mind, but he eliminated every single one. Aside from fleeing, the thing he minded the most was the other person who had followed him in.
I told him earlier not to follow me everywhere!
Wang Hong studied him for a minute. A strange smile appeared on his face as he said, “Oi…why don’t you tell me what you did hear? I might even consider letting you live for a bit longer.”
Calm down. If Dad or Uncle were in this kind of situation, what would they do?
The cogs in Yu Yin’s head continued to spin. He suddenly remembered that his father usually straightened the other person out using words, while his uncle, unable to do the same, would simply charge directly at the other person using force.
…Completely useless references.
“Have you lost your wits from fear?” Wang Hong asked, seeing the lack of response.
“No, I’m just thinking of how to respond.” Yu Yin stared straight at the other person as he quickly replied this time. “If you don’t mind, we could speak outside. It’s more comfortable there; I don’t have any interest in being extorted in a bathroom.”
“Do you think I’m an idiot? Being outside would give you the chance to run away.” Wang Hong crossed his arms with a smirk, clearly having no intention of negotiating the location of the confession. “Why did you break into my shop?”
“Was passing by.”
With a bang, Wang Hong slammed a fist into the adjacent wall. The noise was extremely loud. “Stop fucking pretending to be all righteous. We all know very well if you were just passing by or not. You’ve been repeatedly prying into my people since Ah Guan! You think I don’t know?”
“If we all know very well, then there’s no need for you to ask,” Yu Yin retorted with a snort.
“You should know what happens if you provoke me, don’t you?” Wang Hong eyed him and continued, “If you dared to come here, you’d better be prepared to not leave.”
“I’m so sorry, but my family has strict rules. If I don’t go home for no reason without letting them know, it will be quite disastrous. So I still plan on going home.” Yu Yin shrugged with a tone that clearly said: “Sorry for not being prepared”. “As for what happens…I assume that you were the one that told those people to get in my way that day?”
He had actually always known deep down. After all, he had never provoked anyone else. When he had thought back to the issue later, he had figured that the person currently standing before him was the greatest suspect.
However, he simply never understood the reasoning behind it. He had clearly not done anything that day, so why had Wang Hong instantly attacked him?
“That’s right, you were too nosy, so I wanted to teach you some discipline. I hadn’t imagined that you were so fearless of death.” Wang Hong openly admitted, then sneered, “You think I wouldn’t notice that you had come into my territory to snoop around? If we had people like you wandering around our arcade centre everyday, we would have been searched by the cops ages ago.” He tapped his ear as he spoke.
Ear?
Yu Yin stared blankly for a moment, but soon understood. “You guys have tapping devices planted in the arcade centre! Aside from being a means of communication, the ear piece also lets you directly overhear things in certain places!” No wonder Wang Hong appeared so quickly to find me that day. And here I’d thought that it was because of the name card.
It seemed like he might have been mistaken.
“Hmph, it’s thanks to Li Yu that those things were installed. Otherwise, this shop would have been searched by the cops hundreds of times already before you even came in.”
He had finally found the perpetrator behind the beating!
Yu Yin considered the possibility of discussing compensating for his cellphone’s repairs. But it looked like the other person would not only refuse to pay the fee, but even demand for Yu Yin’s life instead.
“Alright, since you’ve finished asking your questions, why don’t you answer some of mine now?” Wang Hong did not give him any time to think, quickly shattering the heavy atmosphere.
Honestly speaking, Yu Yin could guess what the other wanted to ask.
“Who exactly are you?”
The air seemed to instantly thicken again.
Yu Yin stared at the other person, who had no intention of moving.
“I’m just Ah Guan’s classmate, remember?” Yu Yin snorted in reply. What an uncreative question. Everyone always asks this, it’s annoyingly predictable.
“A typical classmate wouldn’t ask about so much.”
“What’s wrong with being an extremely curious classmate? People have so much time nowadays that it gets quite boring. Since something that could kill time finally came up, how could I let it go?” Yu Yin tried to listen for other sounds as he responded.
Since he had started conversing with Wang Hong, he had not heard any trace of the theoretically nearby Yu and Zhao Yu Heng.
Logically speaking, Zhao Yu Heng should have discovered Yu, and charged straight over here by now. Even if Yu had not been found, the other person should have sensed something was wrong and still come here. However, it was too quiet. There was absolutely no other noise.
“Hah, it’s fine even if you want to continue feigning ignorance.” Wang Hong sneered with furrowed brows, seemingly giving up on asking anything further. “Not like the dead can speak anyways.”
“Are you not afraid of the dead doing something?” Yu Yin automatically tried to step back before remembering that he was already leaning against the mirror. There was no room for him to continue retreating.
“What could the dead possibly do?”
Wang Hong unexpectedly began to laugh. “You think a dead person could do something? Hmph, I don’t believe there’s anything they could do!”
His response was so unusual that it stunned Yu Yin.
With everything that had happened up until now, only Wang Hong and Zhao Yu Heng had come out unscathed. He suddenly thought back to that day he had been in the arcade centre, how he had undoubtedly seen the hand originally attempt to grab Wang Hong, but end up shrinking back instead.
Why?
Is there some reason “she” cannot touch those two?
“You speak very confidently. But sometimes, the dead can do much more than you think.” Yu Yin swallowed hard as he began to grow anxious. He knew that all he could do now was fight for his life, even with how unfavourable the current situation was for him.
“If they can, I’ll wait right here for them!”
Wang Hong’s attitude was one of arrogance now. “If a dead person can do anything, I can’t wait to see it!”
“Don’t worry, you’ll see it very soon.” Yu Yin fearlessly stared straight at the other person. Although there were still limits beyond his grasp, Yu Yin had a general idea of the entire situation now.
“But the dead person won’t be me.”
***
“Who are you!”
After parting ways with Yu Yin, Yu had not been able to find anything. Thus, he walked back and waited at the front entrance for a moment. Just as he was thinking of heading towards the direction Yu Yin had gone, an unfamiliar voice suddenly rang out from behind him.
Yu started and immediately spun around to see that a stranger had at some point arrived from behind him. The person’s face was injured. It was obvious that this stranger had walked out from the arcade centre.
“You’re…” The person squinted at Yu for a moment, seemingly recalling something. “You’re…the one that was next to Ah Guan’s classmate?”
Yu simultaneously realised the other person’s identity as well – he knew that this was one of the people that had been with Wang Hong.
“What are you doing here!” A hand shot out to grip Yu’s shoulder as Zhao Yu Heng demanded without holding back, “Where is Ah Guan’s classmate! What did you guys come here for?”
Yu had felt a bad premonition from the moment this person first appeared. He forcefully shook his head, anxious to free himself from the boy’s grasp. He knew that there was definitely trouble unfolding inside.
“Answer! What exactly did you guys come to do?” Zhao Yu Heng firmly held the youth down, his voice nearly a roar as he asked, “What are you two suspicious of? Hurry up and say it!” His eyes were turning red as he waited, as if some secret had been exposed. It was a complete reverse from his previous timid attitude.
Wide, violet eyes gazed back at the person.
“Spit it out!”
Just as Zhao Yu Heng was about to press further, he felt a sudden pain. He loosened his hold on the other person and let out an anguished groan.
Yu twisted his elbow out to free himself from the grip and quickly turned to flee.
Originally, he had planned on entering the end of the fire escape path that Yu Yin had gone through. However, he suddenly realised that there was likely one other person, which meant Yu Yin was in an unfavourable situation as well. Charging in would not be of any help.
“Freeze!” Zhao Yu Heng shouted furiously, holding back the pain as he tried to chase after Yu.
If he went inside now, the two of them would just end up being trapped together.
Yu quickly made a decision, immediately speeding up to race outside.
“Stand fucking still!” Zhao Yu Heng had only managed to follow a few steps before suddenly halting. “What-what’s going on….” A chill hit his spine.
He saw the youth vanish from his gaze, yet his feet seemed to be nailed to the ground, completely immobilized.
The surrounding air seemed to freeze.
“How-how is this…” He pulled at his own leg in panic, but it would not budge in the slightest, and he instantly grew anxious. He continued to try dragging his feet forwards, but it was as if those two legs did not belong to him. He could not even feel them. “Stop joking around…how is this…it’s not a cramp, right…”
His voice gradually grew quieter as his line of sight shifted down onto the ground. A black shadow appeared at the other end of the street and slowly approached him, entering his vision.
Zhao Yu Heng instantly lost the courage to raise his head.
An icy breeze blew past him. He saw the shadow elongate and sway underneath, yet did not sense anyone standing in front of him.
He did not dare to look up.
He knew who that shadow belonged it. It could not be any more familiar; there was no way he could be mistaken.
A drop of cold sweat fell from his forehead.
Like a scene from an animation, the shadow slowly reached an arm out, trembling slightly as it inched closer to his shadow.
Zhao Yu Heng only felt his hands shake.
***
Yu Yin dodged the object flying towards him, practically on instinct.
A metal piece of junk brushed past his face, smashing in the glass behind him. With the sound of shattering [glass], he could tell without turning around that it had been smashed completely.
Yu Yin sidestepped slightly to distance himself from the shards covering the ground, his gaze locked onto the person in front of him. “Don’t act so quickly, I still have something I want to say to you.”
“What else did you want to say?” Wang Hong coldly replied with an arched brow.
“He Mu Yan, Zhu Yin, and Xie Li Yu have all died already. Are you really not afraid?” Yu Yin forced himself to calm down first. He could not let the sudden actions cause a loss in rationality. He continued to observe the other person while slowly speaking.
“I really wonder just how much you know.” Wang Hong narrowed his eyes into a piercing gaze.
“That night, He Mu Yan and Xie Li Yu went to throw away some ‘thing’. They called a taxi in front of the hospital, paying to have the taxi drive out to the outskirts to toss the ‘thing’. Because it wasn’t handled properly, there ended up being large amounts of blood left in the taxi. Although the driver had already cleaned it, the police still tested it to be human blood. That being said, I don’t think there’s any need to discuss what was the ‘thing’ inside the bag.” Yu Yin truthfully voiced everything he knew, connecting them together bit by bit.
Wang Hong took two steps forward, then stopped again. His eyes flashed as he said, “That’s right, Ah Mu and the others were carrying out a task I gave them. The money paid to the driver for the car service also came from me. So what? Now both those useless bastards are dead. Nobody can confirm these things. At most, they’ll just trace back to those two. Hah, the dead can be held responsible for anything, can’t they?”
Yu Yin met the other’s gaze and snorted coldly. “Not necessarily. If they can find the actual person, then they can retrieve evidence. I doubt they’ll only trace back to the dead then. Don’t forget what you said earlier – who was enjoying themselves with who?”
“They’d have to find it first.” Wang Hong cracked his knuckles, an arrogant grin forming on his face. “Even if they do, so what? There’s nothing the cops would have to confirm the person was killed by me—”
“Of course they do!” Yu Yin interrupted, inwardly assessing his chances of escape. “Why are the machines outside so dirty, yet the street is so tidy? A single look at those machines is enough for anyone to tell that the pathway is rarely used, yet why was it cleaned? That day, blood was dripping out from the bag, which the taxi driver even made you fix later. If I told the police and I collected samples both here and the taxi, what do you think they’ll find?”
Murderous intent flared in Wang Hong’s eyes as he glared maliciously at Yu Yin. “I think you should go keep that trash bitch, Lin Xiu Jing, company. It’ll be less lonesome if you two sleep together.” He pulled out a butterfly knife from his pocket and brandished it, the silver glint reflecting off the bathroom surfaces.
Yu Yin stared at the person gradually approaching, a smile suddenly forming on his face. “Lin Xiu Jing really was killed by you guys after all.”
“!”
Wang Hong froze. Before he could react, Yu Yin jumped into action first, charging forwards and shoving Wang Hong aside. Without looking back, he raced towards the back door.
However, Wang Hong was not that easy to deal with. The minute he snapped out of his daze, he reached out for the back of Yu Yin’s collar and yanked him back, throwing Yu Yin onto the ground. The two of them wrestled each other for a while, and Yu Yin seemingly ripped something off from the other person’s neck. A wave of dizziness suddenly hit him, and those few, short seconds were enough to instantly put him at a disadvantage.
Wang Hong stood back up and stomped a foot down onto Yu Yin’s chest. “You think I’d let you run away that easily?” His voice was frigid as he looked down on Yu Yin from above. “What did you mean by what you said earlier?”
Struggling to breathe, Yu Yin coughed before answering with a grim laugh from his miserable position, “From beginning to end, I never mentioned the words ‘corpse’ or ‘Lin Xiu Jing’. You admitted yourself that you killed Lin Xiu Jing!”
“Fucker! Go to hell!”
Yu Yin’s eyes widened as he watched the butterfly knife descend.
In that split second, he saw it—
A pair of white, swollen hands suddenly reached out from the mirror behind Wang Hong, gripping tightly around his neck and dragging his entire body backwards.
Before Wang Hong could even scream, his head was smashed hard into the mirror.
A crash rang out.
Blood and glass shards mixed together, spattering onto his body.
